LONDON, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Tuesday affirmed that his government would propose a new Brexit deal next Friday.
Johnson said during the House of Commons’ first session after last week’s elections that ratification of the agreement would ensure the Brexit before the deadline of January 31.
He stressed that his party’s victory with a majority means the end of the delay that characterized the previous parliament, adding that his government will also propose voting on a binding decision that guarantees the end of the transition phase to the end of the year 2020.
The MPs elected Lindsay Howell as the Parliament Speaker after she was elected by the previous MPs only days before the dissolution of Parliament early last month.
Conservatives are now fully empowered to implement Brexit, which was approved by 52 percent of the British in the 2016 referendum.
