– President of the Kuwait Winter Games Club (WGC) Feheid Al-Ajmi said Tuesday the national Women’s Ice Hockey League had helped female players sharpen their skills and gain expertise.
Speaking to KUNA following the conclusion of the first stage of the local competition, Al-Ajmi said that the performance of participating players was steadily developing.
Moreover, a considerable number of young nascent female players had joined the league this year, he said.
Al-Ajmi pointed the strong competition would help select a group of highly-skilled players to the national team to partake in international championships, such as the Asia Women’s Ice Hockey tournament, slated for next April in the Philippines.
Four local teams are participating in the tourney, played at Kuwait Winter Games Club (WGC) in Bayan area.
