RIYADH, Zain Group announced Sunday that its branch in Saudi Arabia has launched its 5G network to be the largest 5G network in the Middle East.
The group said in a press statement that the network would cover 26 Saudi cities, utilizing 2,600 towers by the end of 2019, serving its 8.3 million customers.
Zain Vice Chairman, Group CEO, Zain KSA Vice Chairman Bader Al Kharafi said that 5G will bring substantial change for the kingdom’s telecom industry, creating new business models and unlocking opportunities for many sectors in the country. He added that Zain succeeded in providing an advanced infrastructure for the technology of the fifth generation in accordance with the best international standards to meet the goals of (Vision 2030), which seeks to unleash its full potential in the digital society and enhance cooperation to future needs in the field of ICT.
