KUWAIT, Chief Executive Officer of Boursa Kuwait Khaled Al-Khaled on Thursday affirmed necessity of bolstering the Kuwaiti woman role in the labor market.
Equal opportunities help in making best performance in businesses, as well as in the economic field, said Al-Khaled, in statement inaugurating the “Initiative Ringing the Bell for Empowering the Woman,” launched by the national stock exchange.
Al-Khaled pledged to continue sharpening skills of the female cadres at the bourse, by increasing training courses.
Meanwhile, Khaled Mahdi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development, said in a statement at the inauguration ceremony that women account to half of the Kuwaiti population, thus they ought to contribute to the development.
Nicola Hewett, a UN advisor for GCC states, lauded Kuwait’s adherence to sustainable development.
Meanwhile, Khaled Shahwan, the deputy resident UN representative, noted Kuwait’s keenness on women empowerment for attaining their various rights.
For her part, Lubna Al-Qadi, member of the teaching board at Kuwait University, urged for increasing women’s contributions to the private sector to attain sustainable development.
