Coalition forces investigate reports of accidental damage in Yemen

RIYADH, The Joint Command of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen said it referred to a team of investigators the results of one of its operations for possible accidental damage.

Based on information about possible civilian casualties from the attacks on the Iranian-backed Houthi militia in Sanaa governorate, the Joint Command decided to refer the outcomes of the comprehensive review and the relevant documents to the joint investigation team, SPA quoted Spokesman of the Command Col. Turki Al-Maliki as saying on Thursday.

The team on assessment of accidents will announce the results of the probes soon after verifying the reports, Col. Al-Maliki said.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the coalition forces to the provisions of the international humanitarian law relating to the rules of engagement and safety of civilians.
