TEHRAN, Iran announced Wednesday that it has prevented an International Atomic Energy Agency inspector from entering Natanz nuclear facility due to fears of carrying “suspicious materials”.
In a press statement, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) said the IAEA inspector was about to enter Natanz Uranium Enrichment Complex last week when inspection equipment made warning signs.
It added that he facility guards stopped the inspector and her stuff were inspected again.
The security clearance of the IAEA inspector was cancelled and she was ordered to leave Iran.
The IAEO pointed out that it has informed the IAEA about the incident.
Earlier today, Reuters reported that Iran briefly held the IAEA inspector and seized her travel documents.
