PARIS, France on Friday reiterated its firm stance on the Palestinian issue and its commitment to a two-state solution and conmdemned Israel’s new settlement expansion plans on occupied West Bank territory.
The remarks follow Israel’s decision on April 4 to authorize the construction of more than 4,000 housing units across West Bank settlements.
These plans violate international law and undermine the conditions for a just and lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians, said the French Foreign Ministry.
It called on Israeli authorities to abandon any plans that jeopardize the two-state solution.
