RAMALLAH, The Jordan Valley is an inseparable part of the Palestinian territories, said Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Ashtiah on Monday.
Ashtiah, during a special session of his cabinet held in the village of Fasael, located in the valley, said the low land accounts to 28 percent of the West Bank land space, rejecting Israel’s plan to annex it.
The Palestinian cabinet held the extraordinary session in the region as a manifestation to affirm the Palestinian leaders’ keenness on preserving the territories.
He assured residents of the region that the authority would support them and help them stay in their lands.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has recently declared his intention to annex the valley to Israel if he wins elections, due later this week.
