Kuwait as partner of WFP proud of Nobel prize — representative

Kuwait’s representative at the World Food Programme on Friday applauded the WFP winning of the Nobel Prize in apprecIation for its unique role at the humantarian levl across the world.

Kuwait takes special pride in the WFP accomplishment as a supporter and partner in its humanitarian endeavours, said Yousef Al-Hujail, the Kuwait representative, in remarks to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), adding that the WFP winning of the prize for 2020 came at the appropriate time to shed light on its high-esteemed mission of saving lives, aiding millions of people as well as for boosting morale of its frontline personnel.

The State of Kuwait, as an active member, main supporter and partner in the “noble efforts,” expresses special pride of this admiration of the leading humanitarian organization, Al-Hujail said.

This is an international recognition of the necessity of the humanitarian work as a basic factor for peace and stability which are among basic principles of the State of Kuwait vision and its status as Center of Humanitarian Action since era of the late Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, he added.

Kuwait, named as partner by the WFP, will remain on side of the program during leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad, the representative elaborated.

The WFP, founded in 1961, offers various kinds of aid namely food to 97 million people in need worldiwde every year.
