Kuwait Stars beat Mooseheads 12-2 in the start of Nat’l ice hockey League

Kuwait Ice Hockey League 2020-2021 (men) opened at Kuwait Winter Games Club (WGC) in Bayan area on Monday and will last until February.

Five local teams are taking part in the 15-stage tourney, namely, Kuwait Stars, the Mooseheads, the Warriors, the Falcons and the Camels, WGC Treasurer Ahmad Al-Emran said.

The opening match pit the Stars against the Mooseheads and ended with the former hammering the latter 12-2, Al-Emran told KUNA this evening.

Al-Emran noted that the WFC is keen on organizing the tournament regularly as per the rules of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) to promote the winter games in Kuwait and foster the technical skills of Kuwait youths.

“In addition to the hockey, the Club sponsors other winter events such as Figure skating, Speed skating, Curling and Snowboarding.

“The women’s edition of Kuwait Ice Hockey League 2020-2021 will open tomorrow Tuesday,” he added
