GENEVA, Kuwait’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva Ambassador Jamal Al-Ghunaim said on Sunday Kuwait will participate actively in the 107th Session of the International Labor Conference.
In a statement to KUNA, Al-Ghunaim said the session will be held on Monday and will last until June 8, adding that Kuwait will be represented by a national delegation including the Government, employers and employees.
He noted that the Kuwaiti participation comes in line with Kuwait’s efforts to strengthen its relations with specialized international organizations, especially the International Labor Organization (ILO), to benefit from successful international experiences in job creation, reducing unemployment rates and developing the labor sector.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Al-Ghunaim praised the strong relations between the State of Kuwait and the International Labor Organization (ILO), stressing Kuwait’s keenness on supporting the labor programs in the Middle East, including the program to support Palestinian workers within the Israeli occupation policy.
The session’s agenda is expected to include the annual report of the Director-General of the Organization, Guy Ryder, Palestinian labor market conditions in Israeli-occupied territory, and the third report on improving young worker safety and ending child labor.
