KUWAIT, The Ministry of Electricity and Water has signed three contracts for annual maintenance of power and water desalination plants worth KD 43 million (USD 129 million).
The contracts aim to improve the operational safety of the plants, thus enhancing the stability of the country’s power grid, the ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
Two of the contracts, worth a combined KD 34 million (USD 111 million), are for annual and detailed maintenance of the mechanical components and the replacement of spare parts at Doha West and Doha East power and desalination plants.
The remaining contract, worth KD 9 million (USD 29 million), targeting Shuwaikh power and desalination plant will be completed no more than five years after the deal comes into effect.
