North Korea summit to take place in Singapore on June 12

WASHINGTON, U.S. President Donald Trump announced Thursday that his summit with North Korea?’s leader Kim Jong Un will take place in Singapore on June 12.

Trump announced in a tweet “the highly anticipated meeting between Kim Jong Un and myself will take place in Singapore on June 12th.” “We will both try to make it a very special moment for World Peace!,” he added.

This was announced hours after Trump received the three freed Americans from North Korea.

Trump was asked at Joint Base Andrews upon the arrival of the three Americans why Kim decided to free these prisoners now, he said: “I really think he wants to do something. I think he did this because I really think he wants to do something and bring that country into the real world .. I think that we’re going to have a success. I think this will be a very big success.” He added that his proudest achievement will be “this is a part of it, but will be when we denuclearize that entire peninsula. This is what people have been waiting for for a long time.” On Wednesday, Trump told reporters when asked if the plans for a meeting with Kim Jong Un could be “scuttled,” that “everything can be scuttled.
