PAS adopts sports training resumption mechanism starting June 28


– Kuwait Public Sports Authority (PAS) Deputy Director-General Dr. Saqer Al-Mulla said that the tripartite committee adopted a sports training resumption mechanism which will start June 28.
In a press conference held Wednesday, in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Health and the Kuwaiti Olympic Committee, Al-Mulla affirmed that mechanism is subject to international health standards to ensure the athletes’ health safety.
He pointed out that the athletes who have qualified or still competing to qualify for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 will start practicing first.
Al-Mulla stated that every athlete will have to adhere to the health guidelines and preventive standards.
For his part, Director of the Public Health Department and the representative of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health, Dr. Fahad Al-Qamlas, said that the ministry has developed a health protocol based on principles and guidelines for the sports activity resumption.
On Monday, the Kuwaiti Cabinet had agreed at its meeting to resume the sports training only while adhering to health requirements.
