DOHA The Qatari Ministry of Health on Monday reported 38 additional novel coronavirus cases, bringing the Gulf country’s total infections up to 439.
The fresh cases are mostly quarantined expat workers, in addition to three Qatari citizens arriving back from the UK, Spain and Switzerland, the ministry said in a statement.
All the new cases have been put under quarantine and are receiving necessary medical care, according to the statement.
The novel coronavirus emerged in Wuhan, China last December, and has rapidly spread to over 140 countries, and the World Health Organization has designated the virus a pandemic.
