Trump slams FBI chief for backing Inspector General report on Russia probe

WASHINGTON, US President Donald Trump has criticised the FBI Director for supporting the Inspector General report’s findings that an investigation, regarding links between Trump’s president campaign aides and Russia, was not politically motivated.

“I don’t know what report current Director of the FBI Christopher Wray was reading, but it sure wasn’t the one given to me,” Trump tweeted.

“With that kind of attitude, he will never be able to fix the FBI, which is badly broken despite having some of the greatest men and women working there.” FBI Director Christopher Wray had earlier told CNBC that “we have no information that indicates that Ukraine interfered with the 2016 presidential election.” Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz’ recent report did not find “evidence that political bias or improper motivation influenced the decisions” to investigate several Trump campaign advisers.
