Turkish, Iranian leaders discuss US withdrawal from Iran nuclear deal

ANKARA, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani discussed by phone on Thursday the American withdrawal from Iran’s nuclear agreement.

During the phone conversation, the Turkish president saod the US withdrawal from the Iranian nuclear deal isn’t the right decision, presidential sources were quoted as saying by Anadolu news agency.

Erdogan told Rouhani that Turkey supports the preservation of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPA), it said.

On Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump withdrew his country from the landmark nuclear deal, which was signed in 2015 between Iran and the P5+1 group of nations (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany).
